The Graduation and Prize Giving ceremony is an opportunity for you to celebrate the completion of your studies at UTS College with fellow students, family and friends. It is a formal event held for students who have completed their studies in the diploma program and UTS Foundation Studies.
The ceremony also includes the presentation of prizes including the Dean’s Merit Prize and the Outstanding Graduate Prize for that semester.
UTS College Dean’s Merit Prizes
Each semester, a prize of $5,000 AUD will be awarded to the full-time student who achieves the highest Grade Point Average (GPA) in their first semester in each of the diploma programs, and the UTS Foundation Studies program. If more than one student achieves the highest GPA, the prize is shared.
UTS College Outstanding Graduate Prizes
Each semester, a $5,000 AUD prize will be awarded to the full-time student who achieves the highest Grade Point Average (GPA) overall in their studies in each of the diploma programs, and the UTS Foundation Studies program. If more than one student achieves the highest GPA, the prize is shared.
Dean's Merit Award
Each semester, the Dean's Merit Award will be awarded to the full-time student who achieves the highest Grade Point Average (GPA) in their first semester in each of the diploma programs, and the UTS Foundation Studies program. If more than one student achieves the highest GPA, the award is shared.
Eligibility
Students who are studying full-time in their first semester of a UTS College diploma or UTS Foundation Studies.
Notification of award winners
Recipients of this award are notified by the Dean of Studies.
Award process and dates
Students will be inivited to a small awards ceremony in the following academic semester of achieving the award. You will be invited to this ceremony via your student email.
UTS College Outstanding Graduate Prize
Each semester, a $5,000 AUD prize will be awarded to the full-time student who achieves the highest Grade Point Average (GPA) over all the academic programs plus meets the prize criteria for outstanding graduate.
Please note this award is separate to the Dean's Merit Award.
Eligibility
UTS College will review student results at the end of each semester and notify you if you are the recipient of a prize, ahead of the Graduation Ceremony. Criteria for receiving this prize includes:
- Highest GPA
- Highest attendance
- Outstanding participation in class
- Engagement in the wider college (Peer mentoring, Peer Helper, Student Representative Group, Volunteering, University Clubs, Student activities etc.)
Notification of Prize Winners
Recipients of these prizes are notified by the Dean of Studies.
