Your health and wellbeing are our priority while studying at UTS College. That’s why we encourage you to take advantage of the convenient medical and healthcare services available through UTS.

UTS Health Service

The UTS Health service is available to all UTS College students to access good healthcare, information and support, including:

  • Treatment of a range of medical conditions, illnesses and other physical problems
  • Consultations for a broad range of health, sexuality and lifestyle issues
  • Women's health issues, including advice on contraception, pregnancy testing and antenatal care
  • Travel advice and vaccinations
  • Information pamphlets on a broad range of health issues
  • Advice or assistance for students with examination difficulties, or in need of special, assessment arrangements because of a disability or medical condition.

Hours of Operation

The Health Service is open Monday to Friday throughout the year (except public holidays)

  • Monday - Thursday: 8:30am – 6:00pm
  • Friday: 8:30am – 5:00pm

Fees

The Health Service offers Bulk Billing, which means there is no cost to you for most consultations if you have Medibank Private Overseas Student Health Cover.

Some consultations not covered by Medibank will cost, e.g. travel vaccinations.

Accidents, incidents and hazards

Report to a staff member or call UTS College campus Security: (02) 9218 7090.

Immediate First Aid

If you are ill or injured or you need urgent first aid while on UTS College campus, contact UTS College campus Security on (02) 9218 7090, or find a first aid officer.

UTS College Welfare Team

If you need urgent support, you can also contact our Welfare Team who are located in the Student Centre.

Illness and attendance

Your attendance at every class is mandatory. In the case of illness or an emergency situation, you should contact the UTS College Student Centre by telephone at (02) 9218 8666.

If you experience a serious illness or if a traumatic incident affects your performance in an assessment item, you may be eligible to apply for Special Consideration.
