After you graduate from UTS College

When you successfully complete your academic program and graduate from UTS College, you become part of our alumni community - something you can be proud of!

The alumni community

The alumni community, which you are now part of, is an incredibly diverse network of thousands of UTS College graduates around Australia and the world, studying at UTS and/or working in thousands of companies, with unique stories and the desire to work together.

Keep in touch with UTS College - Share your story

After graduating, you can share your story with the College. Your successes and accomplishments can motivate and inspire others who are currently studying, or thinking about studying, at UTS College. Like you, they may have questions about what to expect, and your story could be just the inspiration they need!

UTS College Alumni Club

The UTS College Alumni Club can help as you transition from UTS College to UTS, through social events, information, tips, and networking opportunities in our alumni community.

Alumni success stories

Here are just a few of our UTS College alumni success stories.

Giving back

You can share the benefits of your experience at UTS College and join our ambassador or peer mentor programs. They’re a fun way to stay involved with other students and UTS College.

International Student Mentoring Program

Buddy up with new international students and help them with study advice, settling into life in Sydney, understanding Australian culture and making new friends.

What’s involved?

As a senior student mentor, you’ll be matched with a group of new international students (buddies) and meet regularly with them during the semester.

It’s mainly up to you when you want to meet. You’ll arrange regular online meetings with your buddies – maybe once a week for two hours – at a time that fits in with your study schedule and complete a weekly activity record after each meeting.

You’ll help your buddies by:

  • Demonstrating appropriate behaviour
  • Creating learning experiences
  • Focusing on the positives when facing challenges
  • Encouraging your buddies to build their self-esteem and confidence
  • Directing them to appropriate services and support when they need them.

Being a mentor is a fantastic opportunity to build your skills, abilities, and experience.

  • Specialist mentor training
  • Improved communication skills
  • Greater self-esteem and empathy
  • Advanced conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Further leadership experience.

How to apply

There’s no need to apply for this mentoring program.

If you already have experience as an in-class peer helper and have already completed a UTS College program, you may be invited by one of our Student Success Advisers.
