The learning environment

The learning environment

At UTS College, our industry-leading approach to learning combines live learning, independent learning, academic support, student welfare, social networking and leadership blended into the student-centred experience of Learning.Connected. You'll be guided and supported both in class and during your independent activities to ensure you make the most of your studies.

You’ll also participate in our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiative, where you’ll bring your own device (either a laptop or tablet) to campus to use as part of your studies.

Learning support

Learning support

We offer free weekly one-on-one learning support sessions, which will help you to prepare for your assessments and exams. The Learning Centre runs a number of activities such as English language speaking groups, short film discussion groups, learning assistance sessions and teaching support. We also have 24/7 study support available through Studiosity.

Support services for English students

There are several English language program teachers to assist students with their studies and ensure that all students receive the support they need. English students can use our online Writing Feedback support service through Studiosity. English students also have access to the HELPS Centre.

The HELPS Centre has a wide range of resources for learning English, such as grammar books, dictionaries, reading and writing materials, many listening materials and listening kits, and all current IELTS material, as well as computers, DVDs, videos, newspapers and magazines. The HELPS Centre also offers workshops and additional English assistance.
