IT acceptable use and security policies

UTS College provides you with ITDS resources and facilities to help with your studies, and for reasonable personal use. The ITDS Acceptable Use of Facilities policy outlines your rights and responsibilities when using the services. Using the UTS College ITDS facilities means you agree to abide by this policy.

The ITDS Security Policy applies to all users of ITDS facilities. It’s a condition of use that you accept the terms of this policy. Being safe online helps keep UTS College's environment secure for everyone. This means never:

  • Giving your password to another person or writing it where someone else is likely to see it
  • Obtaining passwords you’re not authorised for
  • Using someone else’s ID when signing onto a UTS College computer or network
  • Using UTS College computing facilities for purposes other than legitimate business or study activities
  • Using UTS College computing facilities to deliberately disrupt other users
  • Introducing tools that could be used to hack, disrupt, or alter system software or security
  • Copying or loading software of any kind onto any computer without authorisation from the systems manager or network administrator
  • Accessing data on any UTS College computer or any computer on the UTS College network without access rights to the data.
