Before transitioning to UTS

UTS follows a different calendar to UTS College. The main sessions at UTS are Autumn, Spring and Summer (limited courses available). You can familiarise yourself with UTS key dates including orientation and session start dates at UTS Academic dates.

All Sessions will be held in week 9 or 10 of the UTS College Academic Calendar. You will be notified by email when these dates are made available.

Domestic Students

Transferring to UTS

After completing your Diploma and meeting the requirements, you’ll be eligible to articulate into a relevant UTS degree. 

The articulation agreement provides information on the UTS courses available and the corresponding GPA requirements. Please refer to the articulation requirements based on the commencement year of your Diploma. If you commenced your Diploma before 2024, please go to Past publications
 

If you’re in your final semester and you’ve met the conditions below, you’ll receive an offer by invitation to your UTS preference.  

  • You have a UTS preference nominated 
  • You’ve completed your Diploma and met the GPA requirement for your UTS preference 
  • You’ve submitted the major questionnaire (see Completing your major questionnaire for more information)  


If you’re completing your Diploma in September and meet these conditions, your offer will be for Autumn session 2025. All courses stated on the articulation agreement (excluding the Bachelor of Design in Architecture) are available in Autumn session 2025. 

If you wish to start in Summer session 2024 instead, please see the courses available and submit a UTS direct application to be considered. 


Updating your preferred UTS course and personal details

  1. Contact the UTS College Student Centre to confirm your preferred UTS course. 
  2. Check that your details including your name, contact details, citizenship and residency details are up to date on your eStudent profile. 
  3. Make any changes by week 10 of your last semester with UTS College.


Submitting a UTS direct application

In most cases, you do not need to submit an application to UTS. You are only required to submit an application via the UTS Student Portal if: 
  • You don’t meet the GPA requirement for your UTS preference  
  • You’ve taken a break in studies since completing your UTS College Diploma.



 

23 August 2024 – Last day to update your preferred UTS course, personal details and complete major questionnaire (if applicable to UTS course). 
21 October 2024 – Offers for Autumn session 2025 (commences in February) released to Semester 2 2024 finishers  
23 October 2024 – Applications open for Summer session 2024 and Autumn session 2025 
3 November 2024 – Applications close for Summer session 2024 and Autumn session 2025

How do I submit an application on UTS My Student Portal? 
Please view the instructions on how to submit UTS College direct applications.

Please note, submitting an application under application types other than the UTS College Transfer applications, may delay your application being processed on time.
 
You will receive your outcome via email within 2 weeks of your application submission.
 
The course I want to apply for is not appearing on My Student Portal.   
If the course you want to apply for does not appear on the UTS Student Portal, it is due to one of the following reasons: 
  • The course you’re applying for is not on the articulation agreement. 
​Note: Only courses on the articulation agreement are available on My Student Portal. View your relevant articulation agreement on UTS College Publications. Please view the agreement for the year you commenced your Diploma in.    
  • Applications are closed for the session you're applying for

To apply for other undergraduate courses not on the articulation agreement, you will need to submit a UAC application (opens an external site). You can view offer round dates on the UAC website.
 
I want to start at UTS later. What should I do? 
If you want to take a break before starting at UTS, you won’t need to do anything once you’ve received the offer correspondence.

Once you’ve decided when you want to commence studies at UTS, you’ll need to submit an application on the UTS Student Portal. For application opening and closing dates, please see Key dates.  
 
My final GPA does not meet the minimum GPA requirement for my preferred UTS course. What can I do? 
We recommend you submit a direct application. Following submission, you may be contacted to provide a personal statement to support your application. The faculty will assess your academic results and your personal statement and you will be advised of your outcome via email.

Who should I contact for more information on transferring to UTS? 
In your final semester at UTS College, your first point of contact is your Student Success Advisers.  

Your Student Success Advisers can assist you with: 
  • Updating your UTS preference 
  • Offer release and application dates  
  • Enquiries related to your offer status or application 
  • Transferring to UTS in a later session

International Students

How will I receive my UTS Letter of Offer?  
Eligible students will receive their Letter of Offer via email. A copy will be sent to your student email address, personal email address and nominated UTS agent (if appointed). If you need to update your contact details please email international.applications@uts.edu.au with a copy of your passport, UTS College Student Number and confirmation of your new email address.  
 
When will I receive my UTS Letter of Offer?  
Eligible students will receive their Letter of Offer via email usually within 2 weeks of your result release date.  
 
What is the due date to accept the offer?  
The due date to accept the offer will be listed on your Letter of Offer. International students must accept an offer before proceeding to orientation or enrolment.  
 
What do I need to provide to accept my offer?  
International students need to submit the completed acceptance form, passport copy, evidence of payment of the deposit (Flywire reference number or screenshot) and scholarship acceptance form (if eligible). Please ensure all documents are signed as per your passport. Acceptance documents can be submitted to your nominated agent or directly to UTS via the application portal or email.  
 
How do I change my course or major? 
If you have decided to change your UTS course or major you should contact reps@uts.edu.au immediately to request for your application to be reviewed for the new preference. You should request a change prior to completing your UTS College course. Course changes made after enrolling at UTS will need to be considered via an Internal Course Transfer (ICT).  
 
Changes to your course may impact your student visa. Please ensure that you inform the Department of Home Affairs regarding any changes to your enrolment.  
 
How can I see my subject exemptions after enrolling at UTS?  
Students eligible for credit recognition will notice that the subjects they are exempted from appear grey on their study plan via My Student Admin. You will not be able to enrol into subjects you have received exemption for.
