UTS has extended the option for UTS College Diploma of Design and Architecture (Design stream only) students to articulate to the Bachelor of Animation Production (C10460) and, for international students, the Bachelor of Animation Production / Bachelor of International Studies (C10462) combined degree.
Students must join their UTS degree no later than UTS Autumn 2024 intake, and there is only one intake per year (Autumn) for this degree.
What does this mean for UTS College students?
Students who are ready to start the
standard Diploma of Design and Architecture (Design stream) in
semester one 2023 or the
accelerated Diploma of Design and Architecture (Design stream) in
semester one or two 2023 may still articulate to the Bachelor of Animation Production next year (2024) with 36 credit points of recognition of prior learning (RPL) (with no reduction in degree duration).
Students undertaking the
extended Diploma of Design and Architecture (Design stream) will not have enough time to complete their diploma before UTS Autumn 2024 intake. Therefore, this extension does not apply to those students.
In order to articulate to UTS, international students must have no more than two subject failures, while domestic students must meet the GPA requirements for articulation.
What to advise your students
Students wishing to commence in semester one or two 2023, should consider the following:
- the time required to obtain a visa. Will your student arrive in Sydney on time to commence the appropriate diploma program that allows them to articulate no later than UTS Autumn intake 2024?
- ability to arrive on time before enrolments into the relevant UTS College intake close. If your student misses enrolment and has to defer their diploma, will they still be able to join the degree no later than UTS Autumn intake 2024?
- is your student English ready? Does your student have the correct English qualification to commence their diploma? Students who require English before their diploma may miss the appropriate UTS College intake, and therefore the UTS Autumn intake 2024 deadline
- students will not be able to defer their course at any point if they are to make the UTS Autumn intake 2024.

For the UTS Autumn 2025 intake, it is expected that students will have completed the new UTS College
Diploma of Animation Production, expected to be offered for the first time in 2024. This will enable students to receive a full 48 credit points RPL towards the Bachelor of Animation Production at UTS. Details about the new Diploma of Animation Production will be coming soon.
