UTS College has marked the launch of Australia’s first university-embedded Cambridge International senior secondary offering with a special event, welcoming the first cohort of students into its Cambridge International at UTS College program.
Parents, students, teachers and staff gathered on campus to celebrate the milestone. Excited students from Cambodia, China, Korea, Mongolia, Nepal, South Korea, the USA, and Vietnam, many joined by their families, shared an informal morning tea.

New students got acquainted over morning tea as they were introduced to the College.
Also attending the event, UTS College CEO Morwenna Shahani, said, “Today is an exciting day for the College. It is always special to welcome new students, and even more so when we meet their families. For me this is going to be one of the highlights of 2026..."
Reflecting on the students’ first week, Justin Chu said the strength of the program lies in giving students early exposure to university within a structured and supportive environment.
Introductory sessions included a chance to connect with College IT.
“When they transition to university, they will have greater confidence. They will already be familiar with Sydney and the UTS campus. Academically, they will be well prepared. We believe this positions our students to succeed at a higher level than in a traditional high school setting.”
Student Ambassadors led an informative campus tour.
During their first week, students also learnt more about co-curricular activities available alongside their studies, including the Duke of Edinburgh Award, and sports, clubs, and social activities through ActivateUTS.
