When your child studies with the UTS Cambridge Accelerator, you can be assured they’ll experience the best of care. UTS College has been a leader in transitional education for more than 35 years and is highly sensitive to the needs of international students – especially those under 18 years of age.

While completing their Cambridge AS and A levels with us, students will enjoy the advantages of an innovative university environment while they experience a ‘high school’ level of care. UTS College is known for its nurturing, supportive atmosphere. Here are the three main ways we support our students:

1. Dedicated academic support

  • A safe, supportive learning environment that prioritises security and wellbeing
  • Learning.Connected - an innovative approach to learning
  • One-on-one help from professional Student Success Advisers
  • Extra academic support outside class from the on campus HELPS Centre (a safe, friendly space where students can study independently, attend workshops, and access English language and study skills resources)
  • Studiosity (a free online platform providing 24/7 study support from international subject specialists)
  • English language skills workshops
  • An end-of-term report to parents that includes students’ academic progress, wellbeing status, and further study plan advice.

2. Wellbeing and health support

3. Peer support

  • Peer helpers are senior students who have previously excelled in a particular academic subject and are trained to give classroom help.
  • Peer mentors are also past students who have completed a diploma at UTS College and a now studying at UTS. They can help students settle into Sydney life, understand Australian culture, and make new friends. Peer mentors are selected from our team of peer helpers and given specialist mentoring training.
  • Benefits of having a peer mentor include increased sense of achievement, improved social skills, greater feeling of connection to the College community, increased attendance, and motivation
