Academic program refund policy update

Academic program refund policy update

In response to the impact of COVID-19 on our students, we have introduced remote learning, a range of online student support services and adjusted our refund policy.

The refund policy updates cover a range of scenarios for students enrolled in our Academic programs (Diplomas and UTS Foundation Studieds) impacted by COVID-19:

  • An International student unable to arrive for Sem 1 due to travel restriction and now wishes to withdraw rather than commence remote learning
    • Full refund, including international student processing fee and UTS COE fee

  •  An International student who would like to be admitted for future semesters but is concerned that travel bans will prevent them from coming and that they may lose part of the fee if they then choose to withdraw close to the start of the semester
    • Students are entitled to a full refund, including the international student processing fee and UTS CoE fee, provided a travel ban is still in place in their country of residence at the start of the semester.

  • An International student who has started remote learning and wishes to defer before or after census date
    • Students can repeat the semester without an additional charge, no fails on their record.

  •  An International student who has started remote learning and wishes to withdraw before or after census date
    • No refund, no fails on their record.

  •  An International or domestic student studying remotely, fails some subjects
    • Students can repeat the failed subject once with no further charges, no fails on their record.

Refund policies for Semester 2 will be the same as per our standard refund policy

We will continue to review the application of this policy. Please monitor this page for updates and new information. If you have any further questions, please contact your Partner Manager.

Any UTS Insearch student in financial hardship because of the impact of COVID-19 can contact us at welfare@insearch.edu.au  and let us know details of the situation so we can assist on a case-by-case basis.
