Admissions and Enrolments Frequently Asked Questions
What if new international academic students enrol late?
Enrolment for Semester 3 closes 20 September 2024. If they enrol late, they must seek approval from the Dean of Studies. If approved, there is a $150 late fee.
Do new students starting English Language/Academic English need to enrol on-campus?Â
No, we enrol English Language students on their behalf. However, English Language students must be on campus for their orientation.
On-campus enrolment only applies to students enrolling in an academic course for the first time e.g. studying a diploma, UTS Foundation Studies, Graduate Certificate (Pre-Master's) or the new UTS Cambridge Accelerator.
If a student is progressing from English to an academic program, they will need to enrol on-campus for that academic program.
What is the difference between "enrolment" and "orientation"?
Enrolment
Requires the student to enrol in their subjects and set up their class timetable.
Students can't attend orientation without enrolling first.
Orientation:
This follows the week after enrolment closes and is an introduction to the student's program, UTS College services, teachers and classmates.
Welcome Week is orientation for academic students.
Welcome and Orientation is orientation for English Language students.
What is the difference between "admitted" and "enrolled"?
Admitted/Admission:
This is where a student has met the entry requirements and is successfully admitted into their program.
Students are only admitted
once
into their program.
Enrolment
Requires the student to enrol in their subjects and set up their class timetable.

The enrolment/re-enrolment process occurs every semester.

What is the difference between "enrolment" and "re-enrolment"?
Enrolment
Enrolment is for a UTS College student entering a UTS College academic program for the first time, or when they're progressing from an English Language program to an academic program for the first time.
On-campus enrolment occurs
once
for the new international academic student.
Re-enrolment
Re-enrolment is for a student
continuing
their academic program and selecting subjects for the next semester. They
re-enrol
after they’ve completed their first semester and progress to any subsequent semesters.
