Two new opportunities for Diploma of IT graduates

Advances in AI, Quantum computing, and digital technologies are changing the world. The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) continues to prepare graduates to take their place as leaders in the diverse and challenging world of IT. Two exciting new degrees are available for students who have graduated with a Diploma of IT from UTS Insearch.

Bachelor of Science in Games Development

Today’s games are sophisticated computer programs that often connect thousands of players through virtual worlds. They consist of detailed 3D graphics, realistic physics, and complex artificial intelligence. This three-year (including one year at UTS Insearch) degree includes a sound education in all aspects of information technology as well as the diverse skills necessary for a career in games development. Subjects will include web systems, programming, networking, interactive media, data structure and algorithms, design and visual effects.

Bachelor of Computing Science (Honours)

This four-year (including one year at UTS Insearch) degree has been developed in collaboration with the software industry, ensuring students graduate with the skills required to pursue highly technical careers in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, or quantum computing.

Working in a studio environment, students will apply technical knowledge to real-world problems. The honours component is a one-year, research-based program devoted to a research project.

Leaders in Computer Science

The UTS Insearch Diploma of Information Technology leads directly to second year of both degrees. UTS is the top-ranking university for computer science in NSW and is among the top 100 world-wide for graduate employability. It’s important to note that students wishing to take this study path will need a strong background in mathematics.
