You need to arrange Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) before you apply for your student visa. Comprehensive OSHC can be arranged by UTS College through our preferred OSHC provider Medibank. The Medibank Comprehensive OSHC arranged by UTS College cannot be arranged through other channels. If you prefer to make your own OSHC arrangements, you will need to send a copy of your policy details with your offer acceptance prior to your CoE being issued.
What is OSHC?
International students in Australia must hold valid health insurance (OSHC) for the total duration of their student visa.
OSHC assists you to meet the costs of medical and hospital care you may need while in Australia. OSHC does not include physiotherapy, optical or dental care, the cost of admission to a private hospital, pre-existing medical conditions or non-emergency ambulance service.
You can request UTS College to arrange your OSHC when applying for your course and details of this will appear on your CoE for visa purposes. If you ask UTS College to arrange OSHC on your behalf, comprehensive OSHC will be arranged. Details of the cost and duration of this cover will be noted in your offer letter.
