Canvas
Canvas is the Learning Management System for UTS College. It’s where you’ll find all your subject materials, including assessments and announcements. It’s also where you’ll submit assessments, complete group work, receive grades, receive feedback, and communicate with your teachers outside class.
Canvas will notify you by email about:
- When an assignment is due
- When you’ve received a grade and feedback from your teacher
- When anyone responds to an announcement from your teacher
- Your discussion posts.
You can login to Canvas (using these step-by-step instructions) by entering your UTS email address and password. You can also use Canvas student app on your mobile device.
Canvas student app
With the Canvas student app, you can access your subject material any time, from anywhere. First, download the Canvas Student app on your Android or iOS device.
- Once downloaded, open the app.
- From the landing page, tap the Find my school button and type UTS College - Student.
- When you see the full name in the search list, tap UTS College
- On the login page, enter your UTS email address and password, and tap Sign in.
- Now you’ll see the Canvas dashboard which will show you what’s happening in all your current subjects.

You’ll find Canvas notifications when you check your UTS email. Canvas also uses push notifications to send messages to your mobile device. Your teachers will use Canvas to communicate with you so it’s important to set up push notifications.

Help with Canvas
You can get help with Canvas at any time by using the Help Menu in Canvas or on the app.
If there’s a problem with Canvas, select the Report a Problem option from the Help Menu and submit a ticket to the Canvas support team.
If your password has expired or you can’t remember it, contact the UTS IT Support team. Log on to the UTS College ITDS Service Desk Portal Monday to Friday (8:30am – 7:00pm). You can also call the ITDS Service Desk on (+61 2) 9218 7000.
Depending on how you’re accessing Canvas, you may find the Help Menu on different parts of the screen.
