Taking the leap at eighteenMy UTS College story
My turning point
Winning the Dean's Merit Award for the highest GPA in my course. It reassured me that I was succeeding and gave me confidence that I was exactly where I was meant to be.
How I got here
High school didn't go to plan. Health challenges meant I left school in Year 10 and spent time focusing on getting back on track. After studying at TAFE and exploring my options, I discovered UTS College and found a pathway into the IT degree I'd always wanted to pursue.
The year that changed everything for me
Studying at UTS College, I got more than another way into UTS. It helped me come out of my shell, make lifelong friends and discover confidence I didn't know I had. It was the year I stopped doubting myself and started believing in what was possible.

I always knew I wanted to work in technology. Studying at UTS College helped me take that ambition and turn it into a clear path towards an IT degree and career.

I didn't expect to meet some of my closest friends in my first week. Those friendships became one of the most valuable parts of my experience and are still going strong today.
From hosting panels to meeting industry leaders, UTS College gave me opportunities I never expected to have as a first-year student.
When I started, I was shy and unsure of myself. Looking back now, I'm much more confident and willing to try new things than I ever imagined.
