			What might surprise you to know I once carried my TAFE certificate to multiple Open Days looking for a university that would give me a chance.
			You’ll usually find me On campus, meeting new people, exploring new opportunities and getting involved in university life.
			First day at UTS College Excited, but unsure whether I really belonged at university.
			One thing “Year 12 Me” wouldn’t believe That I'd go on to study at UTS, win the Dean's Merit Award and become confident speaking in front of a crowd.

My UTS College story

My turning point

Winning the Dean's Merit Award for the highest GPA in my course. It reassured me that I was succeeding and gave me confidence that I was exactly where I was meant to be.

How I got here

High school didn't go to plan. Health challenges meant I left school in Year 10 and spent time focusing on getting back on track. After studying at TAFE and exploring my options, I discovered UTS College and found a pathway into the IT degree I'd always wanted to pursue.

The year that changed everything for me

Studying at UTS College, I got more than another way into UTS. It helped me come out of my shell, make lifelong friends and discover confidence I didn't know I had. It was the year I stopped doubting myself and started believing in what was possible.

I didn't expect to meet some of my closest friends in my first week. Those friendships became one of the most valuable parts of my experience and are still going strong today.

Taking a different path to university. "Can I still go to university if I left high school early?"

Yes. I left high school in Year 10 due to health challenges and wasn't sure university would be an option for me. After studying at TAFE, I found UTS College, which gave me a pathway into the IT degree I wanted to study. My journey wasn't traditional, but it showed me there are different ways to reach your goals.

Making friends at university. "Is it easy to find your people?"

It was much easier than I expected. I met my core group of friends during my first week and they're still my support circle today. Getting involved in activities and saying yes to new experiences helped me build those connections.

Finding the right course. "What if I'm not sure what I want to do?"

I spent a lot of time figuring out my direction before coming to UTS College. Studying IT helped me confirm that technology was exactly what I wanted to pursue, and now I'm more confident than ever about my future.
