My UTS College story

My turning point

When I stopped focusing on what I'd missed out on and started focusing on where I wanted to go. Once I committed to my goal, everything started moving forward.

How I got here

When my family hit tough times, I put study on hold and went to work. For years, I focused on supporting the people around me. Eventually, I realised I wanted to build a different future for myself, and that meant finding a path back into education.

The year that changed everything for me

I found people who shared my ambition, discovered new opportunities and gained confidence in my ability to succeed. Most importantly, I found a clear direction and committed to it.

How UTS College was the year that changed me

I committed to a goal

I committed to a goal

Once I knew what I wanted, I stopped looking backwards and started building a plan to get there. Every step brought me closer to the future I wanted.

3 things I didn't expect

One of the best surprises was being surrounded by people who were just as motivated and driven as I was.

One of the best surprises was being surrounded by people who were just as motivated and driven as I was.

People often ask me about

Not at all. Before returning to study, I spent several years working and helping support my family. Coming back gave me a clearer sense of purpose and motivation than I'd ever had before.

I started by thinking about where I wanted my future to take me. Once I had a goal, it became much easier to identify the study path that could help me get there.

One of the biggest surprises was how many like-minded people I met. I built connections with students and teachers who supported me, challenged me and helped me grow.
