Your questions answered
1) set up your account and systems ready for you studies
2) enrol in your program if you are a Diploma or UTS Foundation Studies student (if you are an English Language student, we will enrol you on your behalf)
3) register for your classes and set up your class timetable
4) attend your welcome and program orientation which is called 'Welcome Week'.
'Enrolment' occurs every semester. It's when you select the subjects within your program that you want to study in a semester. As part of this, you must register and select specific classes. As you do this, you will build your class timetable.
If you are an academic student studying a program like UTS Foundation Studies, diploma or graduate certificate (Pre-Master's), you will be required to enrol through eStudent.
If you are an English Language student, we will enrol you in your subjects for you.
Once you have successfully enrolled, you will be ready to join us for Welcome Week which includes an orientation of UTS College, your program overview, meeting your teachers and classmates, academic and wellbeing support workshops, social activities and more.
This is an important week and mandatory for students to attend. This is to make sure you are set up and ready to start your studies with us, so we recommend you check your Welcome Week schedule and plan your week well ahead of time. You'll find your Welcome Week schedule in the Published Courses section of Canvas.
Welcome Week is a key part of your studies and is the first day you are expected to attend. It is a great opportunity to join different learning activities that will prepare you for your academic studies. Your Welcome Week schedule will include:
- An Introduction to UTS College by the Dean of Studies
- Program workshop sessions where you will explore the aims and objectives of your course
- A Welcome Fair for all students, tour of the campus, plus student activities.
All of this important information about the week can be found in the Welcome Week Canvas course which will be available to you soon.
