UTS Academic Merit International Scholarship - South Asia

The UTS Academic Merit International Scholarship - South Asia supports international students who wish to complete their undergraduate or postgraduate study at UTS.

About the scholarship

This scholarship is available to international students from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka completing any UTS College academic program and enrolling in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program at UTS in Sydney in 2025 or 2026.

UTS 2025 and 2026 intakes: 15% off tuition fees

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for the scholarship, an applicant must meet the following: 
 
  • remain an international student (not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia); and 
  • be a citizen of a country in the South Asia region (Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka); and 
  • meet all admission requirements for the selected UTS undergraduate (including Honours programs) or postgraduate coursework program; and 
  • commence full‐time and on campus (Sydney); and 


Must not be: 

  • studying a UTS online degree or distance degree; or  
  • a recipient of another UTS scholarship or grant, or the UTS Alumni Advantage Program for the duration of this scholarship, and be a government sponsored student.

Terms and conditions

  • Diploma students who meet the criteria for the Diploma to Degree Pathway Scholarship will not be considered for this scholarship. 
  • Eligible UTS Foundation Studies and Pre‐Master’s Program students will be considered for the UTS Academic Excellence International Scholarship upon completion at UTS College. If not eligible, students will be considered for this merit scholarship. 

Selection process

  • For undergraduate admission, academic merit in UTS Foundation Studies or a diploma is used for entry into the selected UTS undergraduate program.
  • For postgraduate coursework admission, academic merit in the Pre-Master's Program is used for entry into the selected UTS postgraduate coursework program.

How to apply

UTS Future Learner Recruitment and Admissions will automatically consider all commencing international students applying for an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program at UTS in Sydney for this scholarship. There is no separate scholarship application or documentation in addition to what is required for the course application. Eligible students will receive a conditional scholarship offer along with the UTS College offer letter.
