UTS has also climbed the ranks in key future-focused study areas including Computer Science, Engineering and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

- No. 1 in Australia for Computer Science & Engineering (ARWU 2020)
- No. 1 in Australia for Computer Science (CWTS Leiden Rankings 2021)
- No. 29 worldwide for Computer Science & Engineering (ARWU 2020)
- Top 100 in the world for Computer Science & Engineering (QS World University Rankings by Subject 2021)
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research
- No.1 in Australia for AI Research (AI Research Index 2021)
- No. 10 Worldwide in AI Reseach (AI Research Index 2021)
In the 2021 ShanghaiRanking Global Ranking of Academic Subjects released at the end of May, UTS increased its ranked position in 17 subjects and now is ranked in the world’s top 50 for six subjects: Computer Science & Engineering (11), Nursing (11), Telecommunication Engineering (16), Water Resources (36), Instruments Science & Technology (39) and Transportation Science & Technology (44).
